Homestuck Music Contest
I just finished my track for it. Was a shit-ton of work and I´m quiet satisfied. It almost feels surreal listening to it, and i just cant stop to listen it over and over again. I think there is really a good chance it´s going to be picked but maybe I overestimate myself/ my work.
I´m not sure if I´m going to upload it somewhere before the album ist out. It´s really tempting…
love this! i love the mellowness of it – it captures the moment of the karkat’s confession really well without being overdramatic about it. if there’s one bit of critique i could offer, it’d be to make the song have some more variety in tempo? since it feels like it has ‘cutscene music’ potential. anyway, this is great. that bass is great. love it.This is my band’s song, “Rotten” repurposed to submit for the Homestuck music contest. Now it’s “The Death Of Bilious Slick”.
This was written the day Karkat spilled the beans about giving the beta universe cancer. The song isn’t necessarily written about homestuck, I DEFINITELY used the emotion I was feeling after reading that into writing this. I mean, How would you feel if you thought you ruined a UNIVERSE? The answer is the mood this song gives. At least I think so. If this doesn’t count for the contest, that’s totally ok. Just thought I’d submit it because I think it fits :3

WIP of a character… planned to be the protagonist of a sciance-fantasy webcomic-project I´m still kinda planning on. Actually I have like a lot of cool ideas for the whole background and universe and stuff but it kinda still lacks of story at the moment.
It´s loosely based on Bioactive, wich I already mentioned on this Tumblr.
So well the comic is going to be made of rendered 3D-frames and short animations too. Therfore the 3D-Model.
Okay so I just went to some stupid blog called MicroAggressions (should be called PassiveAggressions) and saw a bunch of white kids offended that urban outfitters sells dream catchers and that someone has a tattoo of a native american girl. Good lord. I don’t think I can take one more bullshit…

Just read something about difference tones. I always wondered how to calculate the frequency of a beat createt by 2 detuned oscillators, for example.
It´s just
f(D)=f1-f2
f(D)= frequency of the beat (difference tone)
f1=higher pitches frequency
f2=lower pitches frequency
I already thought about that myself, but I thought it would be way to simple. But wikipedia says it true. Omigosh Wikipedia… but yeah whatever.
Sooo I made up a little experiment, I just took 2 oscillators and put a lowpass behind them.
First oscillator has like 1800 Hz
Second has like 2240 Hz
Lowpass by 600 Hz
And you can really hear it: 2240 Hz- 1800 Hz= 440 Hz
so yeah you can hear the 440 Hz (the standard pitch a’). thats pretty interesting.
Is there a Synthesizer somewhere wich can use settings like:
note frequency + 1 Hz? (For Example)
Or even better
Note Frequency +(1 Hz/60*[BPM of the Track]*multiplier)
(Because this would allow to synchronise the Beat of the detuning with an actual beat, wich would sure be pretty cool.)
Lavender Town and Missing No.
I´m listening to some Lavender Town remixes and covers right now. This simple melody always gets me emotional. For me it IS some kind of scary… for some reasons.
One of them is, that it always makes me think of Missing No. ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MissingNo. ) wich is also somehting as scary as fascinating for me. I never was much of a Pokemon player, but when I was a child i still got the first game (red or blue, I don´t even remember). I´m pretty sure I never finished a Pokemon game, but my twin brother and my cousin did. And they captured Missing No. The thing is, to that point Pokemon wasn´t just some kind of strategy game to me, it´s world was fascinating. I kind of didn´t want to believe Missing No. is just a bug.
I felt and I still feel like it´s some kind of supernatural life-form in some way. At least thats what it would be for an actual Pokemon trainer.The Idea of artificial life createt out of a glitch is just so very fascinating…
